What is a Dental Inlay?
If you have severely damaged your tooth or a large portion of the enamel is missing, you may need a dental inlay from an experienced cosmetic dentist. If you live in the Beverly Hills or 90212 area, we invite you to call (310) 974-6779 and schedule an appointment with Oral Care Dentistry. Parnaz Aurasteh, DDS can examine you and let you know whether an inlay is the right procedure for you or if you would be better off with dental crowns.
What is a dental inlay?
A dental inlay is essentially a partial crown. It is made of tooth-colored material and created at a dental lab using an impression of your tooth along with measurements. Once complete, Dr. Parnaz Aurasteh can bond it in place in order to restore your missing tooth structure.
When is a dental inlay used?
If too much of your tooth structure is missing to correct it with a dental filling, you are going to need a more substantial restoration. The degree of damage will determine whether your tooth can be restored with a dental inlay (partial crown) or if you need full dental crowns.
Why we recommend dental inlays in our Beverly Hills office –
As a 90212 cosmetic dentist, our goal is to help you to maintain a healthy and natural looking smile. If your teeth have been cracked, chipped, infected or damaged it is important to have them restored immediately. Otherwise, you could be exposing yourself to additional levels of infection or damage. Our objective is to identify the least invasive yet most thorough way to do so. If you do not need full dental crowns it is better to use a dental inlay because less of your tooth structure will be altered.
The best way to find out which type of restoration will work best for your particular situation is to call (310) 974-6779 and schedule a full examination. We will physically examine you, take x-rays and then make a treatment recommendation. You can be confident that regardless of which option you select, your restoration will look natural and beautiful. Also, when you come in, let us know if you have any other concerns about your smile. If so, we can often address those issues at the same time.
